Idea Book
Dean has always had an enquiring business mind. With too many ideas and not enough time he started idea book in his early teens, and over the years one book has become many.
Some of the ideas came to life as personal and business endeavours. But what about the hundreds of ideas sitting on the pages, just waiting for someone to bring them to life?
That’s what the Idea Book is all about. So Dean is publishing it’s contents. You might find the idea you’ve been looking for, or something to spark a new idea all your own.

Remix (2002)
Problem: Surely its’ time for a another cool gimmicky alcoholic beverage to hit the market…?
Idea: ‘Shake it and break it’ to release the flavour. Remix is an idea that brings some pizzazz to your standard pre-mixed cocktails. The base of the drink is vodka & soda and the smaller top portion of the bottle is flavoured with fresh juice i.e. cranberry. Simply shake the bottle causing the membrane holding the flavour to break and distribute through the alcohol mix.

Wide Treadmill (2009)

It’s a treadmill wide enough to accommodate two people running side by side on individual belts with separate speed settings. Each runner is alerted when the other participant increases their speed or incline and it’s up to the individual to meet the challenge.
Further option: Digitally connect 2 existing treadmills to allow for friendly competition.

“Onedoms” One Handed Condoms (1997)
Problem: Attention men (and well all ladies for that matter)! Think about this question for a moment and be honest with yourself….how often has the ‘condom reach’ and ‘placement’ mid ‘act’ (whatever your position you fancy) caused an inconvenient interruption in the heat of the moment? The dreaded fumble that usually ends in a ‘teeth to the rescue tear’. Ahh the memories… we know. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Idea: A condom packet that can be opened with one hand, in one easy motion, leaving your other hand free to continue ... well we’ll let you fill in the rest of that sentence!

‘8 Ball’ – The Drink (2003)
Problem: Drinks are all the same. You look at the label, decide what you want, open the cap take a gulp. Where’s the fun in that?
Idea: Take a base flavor alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink (such as an lemonade) in a standard 375ml bottle, but with a twist. Each bottle ‘lid’ has a flavour ball hidden inside it. The reason it is called ‘8 Ball’ (aside from being a reference to pub pool) is that there are 8 flavors: Strawberry, Lemon/Lime, Orange, Blueberry, Etc, & Cola (the black ball).
The game element comes from the server of the drink - if the black ball drops into the drink, the drink is free or a prize is awarded (a 1 in 8 chance).
Background: As some of you may know, in a past life I was a Disc Jockey, then nightclub marketer then nightclub designer/manager.
During my tenure at Jooce Nightclub (from 1992 – 1997) there was a bit of a boom in new drinks being brought to the market, exploding pretty much from the introduction of an alcoholic soda called ‘Sub Zero’ (by CUB)
The huge popularity of Sub Zero led to a huge range of alcoholic soda’s being brought to market in a large variety of flavours and interesting packaging.
Around the same time, Tooheys brought ‘Duff Beer’to the market. Despite being little more than an existing beer (Longbrew) with ‘Simpsons’ packaging, the beer was extremely popular (that was until Fox forced them to withdraw it from the market - it wasn’t an official licensed product after all).
All of these new drinks coming to market got me thinking about creating some innovative drinks of my own. As it turned out I created 5 drinks, 1 of which I called 8-Ball (I may add the other 4 to this site in the future).
